this song makes me so sad. i first discovered this song in 2017 when I was starting to realize I was in an abusive relationship. it made me sort of dissociate but also brought me straight into my emotions I was avoiding, and I couldn't feel anything but the honesty of how sad and unloved I felt. I typically only revisit this song when I'm feeling that type of sadness- that I'll always be alone and never have the love I dream of. that im far too damaged to ever have a healthy normal relationship with anyone. it's a pretty lonely realization, but a necessary one for me. I've always been alone in my life.

This song is like turning off a lightswitch off my trepidations because there is so much impending stress in my family with our health right now it is like a constant pressure cooker of worry and anxiety and constantly having to think 5 steps ahead. I love the space theme..it works perfectly.

I saw Slowdive open for Simply Minds (!) at Ontario Place back in the day. Somehow got backstage and took them for pizza at Cora's & then to a scruffy 24 hour pool billiard nearby before going back to their hotel where a very inexperienced me got stoned & had to leave in a hurry to catch the vomit comet home at god knows what time. Happy days ❤️
